Readers Reviews

Dear Mr. Taylor,

I just have to congratulate you on both books. I have read and re-read Shadowmancer
at least 6 times and am presently reading my newly bought copy of Wormwood.

I am a White Witch and initially thought that maybe Shadowmancer would be biased against Witches but I came to realise that even in my religion, here is both good and bad and about 1,000 shades of grey:-)

I'm sorry you are not biking anymore but my husband and I will fly the banner for you on our Harley.

All the best for your forthcoming tour and please write another book ASAP.

Bright Blessings

I've just yesterday finished reading "Shadowmancer" and thought I'd give
praise where praise is due. First off I want to make it known that I'm not a
Christian; I would be sort of in the mold of Jacob Crane, except that I'm no
smuggler. I'm also a Harry Potter fan, and also enjoyed reading Philip
Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy. I'm really into the "swords 'n'
sorcery" kind of stuff. I haven't believed in God for years. No book or evil
idea had anything to do with it; I just thought it over one day and decided
it just wasn't possible. The bigotry of fanatics like the "anti-Potter"
crowd also had a part to play in my forsaking the faith, and nothing, not
even this book, could turn me back to it. Even so, I couldn't find much
wrong with this book. It did strike me as a bit preachy at times, but that's
no fault as far as I'm concerned. The ending did feel a bit rushed, but
other than that, it was a great book with an interesting villain. The story
was fast-paced and the detail incredible. I couldn't put it down. Even I, in
my religionless glory (and I use the word sarcastically) couldn't help
admiring Raphah for his unwavering faith and seemingly boundless courage. I
look forward to reading "Wormwood" the first chance I get, but until then,
keep up the good work, Father Taylor! I hope you don't mind that I'm not
Christian, and good luck with the next book! (Will we be seeing any more of
Obadiah Demurral in upcoming chapters?)

Lauren aged 10 (30/09/2004)

Hello, my name is Lauren and I am 10 years old. I am reading the ShadowMancer
book and find it very interesting. I read up about the movie ShadowMancer and I
am going to go see it when it comes out. In the book I am at the part where
Raphah, Thomas and Kate are in Demmural's tower waiting to die. I would like to
know more about the movie and if G.P. Taylor has any more new books.
Please e-mail me back with this information
I love this book.
Thank you
Reply If Possible.

I first heard about Shadowmancer from my mom, she said it was the Christian version of Harry Potter and suggested I read it. So I borrowed it from the library and stated reading. At first it was slow ,but after a while I could not put it down and read it in a week (the fastest I've ever read a book). This is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone ages ten and up.

Shadowmancer was one of the best books I have ever read. It left me craving more. I am so glad Wormwood is out!

Tyler Schmitt, Age 12 (24/09/2004)

My name is Tyler Schmitt, Age 12. I completley loved this book due to the fact that it had many relations to scripture and a slew of action. I loved how the plot of the story twisted and turned the whole way through.G.P.Taylor didan extrodinary job on this book, Iwould give it a 99% out of 100%, although there is no way that this is anything like Harry Potter (which is also a very good piece of literature) It was still one of my favorite books I have ever read!

Brittany Hess (20/09/2004)

Hi,

My name is Brittany Hess and i loved your book. I could picture everything in my mind as i went along in the book. I didn't hear about shadowmancer until i bought the book at a local book store. When i saw it..one cover was like a red color and another like a purple. I ended up with the purple cover i didn't know if that meant anything or just..because it was that way. But anyway i loved the story. I just finished reading it a few days ago. I hope you keep writting such good books. I told my friend bryan about the book and he said he might try reading it. So very very good job. I really enjoyed reading it.

Fanastic book. Absoloutly brilliant. i read shadowmancer on holiday in a cottage on bodmin more at the same time as i read jamaica inn by daphnie da maurier. Both books are about smugling and evil vicars, and together the two books made a dark dismal rainy week in cornwall a fantastic spooky holiday. Cant wait to read the next one. Id love to spend a night in the graveyard that helped inspire this book.

This will hardly count as a review. I loved both Shadowmancer and Wormwood. In Shadowmancer I loved the portrayal as Jesus as the King.

Dear Graham

I just wanted to say how much I have found these books to bring me on in new ways in God. He is my all in all and I love all the heavenly truths echoed through your books.

Thanks.

I simply loved reading Shadowmancer. What on earth do those people
have against it? I have read all the Harry Potter books and thought
highly of them until I took Catholic doctrine in tenth grade.
Shadowmancer is a super book.

Loved Shadowmancer! Been a great companion; kept me
out of certain trouble and it felt like I was parting
with an old friend by the last few pages.

For the movie, I do hope you consider Alan Rickman as
Demurral, Emma Watson as Kate and Christian Bale as
Pyratheon.

Perhaps Steve Coogan, too, but I'm not quite sure for
which character exactly.

Do hope the next books are on their way.

On to Wormwood for me.
